The Great British Sunday Roast. The most important meal of the week!

Is there a better tradition than a Sunday afternoon in the pub, with a pint of real ale or a large glass of red in your hand, enjoying a classic English staple: the Roast Dinner?

Does anything set you up for the week as well as that?

And being the most important meal of the week the Cowper Arms gets it right:

Big Portions, Meat slow roasted to perfection, potatoes roasted in duck fat (unless you’re having the veggie stuff), creamy leeks, bright fresh veg, and Yorkshire puddings big enough to home a family of four, all varnished a thick glaze of Franko’s special secret recipe Red Wine Gravy (the special ingredient is wine).

There’s something for everyone on our Sunday menu. All of the meats you’d expect nothing is missing: Beef, Pork, Chicken, Ham, Lamb, Steak, Salmon, Nut Roast and a Mixed Roast for those who just can’t be limited to one.

And of course, there’s pub favourites such as burgers, gamon, lasagne, pie of the day and vegan pie of the day too, if you don’t fancy a roast.

But you have to be quick! Our Sunday Roasts are hugely popular, and are very often fully booked. Many of them sell out faster than we can make them so booking in advance is highly recommended.

Please note: Our Sunday menu does change a little bit to incorporate specials dishes and we dare say there will be some Turkey around Christmas, but this is an example of our typical Sunday menu
